Edison Mugalu
Considered one of Uganda’s leading painters, Edison Mugalu is a self taught artist who attends workshops whenever possible to increase his level of expertise.
He began exhibiting in group exhibitions in 2003, and has had annual solo exhibitions since 2005. Edison exhibited in the East Africa Art Biennale 2005 and 2007. He works in oil, acrylic, and watercolour.
‘It’s amazing how a simple brush can awaken deep-seated emotions conjures a sense of realism, play on the psyche of the observer. This typifies the works of painter, Edison Mugalu’ - The Weekly Observer. Edison has exhibited in Australia, USA, UK, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
