To help raise funds for vulnerable children who do not have support of their biological families we held an exhibition inconjuntion with SOS Children's villages at Makerere University Art Gallery. The works on display were banana fibre art which the children had been taught by some of our artists.

Grandmothers Beyond Border and Makerere Art Gallery - April 2008

We held an exhibition in conjunction with Grandmothers Beyond Borders to raise funds for the jjajjas (grandmothers) whom the charity supports. It was a very successful event at Makerere University Art Gallery. We exhibited works from the Jjajjas including paper bead necklaces, paper bead balls and textile dying. The event was attended by many people over the three week exhibition including a senior representative from the United States of America Embassy. Many of the Jjajjas also attended and were very happy to have the opportunity to sell some of their work. A cake was cut to celebrate the ongoing relationship between the Jjajjas in Uganda and the Grandmothers in America who do such good work to support them.
